Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sam Foster (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal data when you use Bondo Crew (“the App”). Please read it carefully.

By using the App you agree to the collection and use of your data as described in this policy.

1. Who We Are

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account and Profile Information

When you create an account (via Firebase Authentication) we collect:

Your name
Your email address
Your profile photo (if you choose to upload one)
Links to your public social media or professional profiles (e.g. Instagram, IMDb), if you choose to add them
Any other information you add to your profile

2.2 User-Generated Content

We collect and store content you create within the App, including:

General posts and any images attached to them
Job posts
In-app messages you send to other users

2.3 Location

A location is required to complete account setup. We collect and store the location you provide during onboarding, which may be:

A manually pinned location you select on a map; or
Your device location, obtained via Apple’s location services if you choose to share it.

If you use Apple’s location services, we access your location only at the point you choose to use it within the App. We do not track your location continuously in the background.

2.4 Usage and Analytics Data

We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to collect anonymised data about how you use the App, including:

Features you interact with
Session duration and frequency
Crash reports and performance data
Device type and operating system version

This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

2.5 Automatically Collected Data

When you use the App, Firebase and Apple’s infrastructure may automatically collect certain technical data such as IP address, device identifiers, and app version. This is used solely for operating and improving the App.

2.6 Push Notifications

If you enable notifications, we collect and store a device push token (provided by Apple Push Notification service) to send you notifications about relevant activity, such as new messages or job posts. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

Create and manage your account
Display your profile and content to other users
Enable in-app messaging between users
Provide location-relevant features (such as finding nearby opportunities or users)
Improve and debug the App using anonymised analytics
Respond to support requests
Comply with legal obligations
Send you push notifications about relevant activity (if enabled)

As we are based in England, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

Contract — processing necessary to provide you with the App and its features (e.g. account creation, messaging, location for onboarding).
Legitimate interests — anonymised analytics to improve the App, where this does not override your rights.
Consent — where we ask for your permission (e.g. accessing your device location via Apple’s location services). You may withdraw consent at any time.

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

Other users — your profile, posts, and location (to the extent you have set it) are visible to other users of the App as part of its core functionality.
Firebase / Google — your account credentials (email) and anonymised analytics data are processed by Google LLC under Google’s privacy terms. See https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Apple — the App operates on Apple’s platform. Apple may process certain technical data in accordance with Apple’s privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy.
Legal requirements — we may disclose data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests from public authorities.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

Your profile, posts, and messages will be removed from the App.
Anonymised analytics data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely.
We may retain certain data for a limited period where required by law.

If you are based in the UK or EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Erasure — ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
Portability — request your data in a portable format.
Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for users aged 17 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 17. If you believe a user under 17 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at bondocrew.support@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Transfers

Firebase Analytics is operated by Google LLC, which may process data outside the UK. Google participates in data transfer frameworks that provide appropriate safeguards for international transfers. See https://policies.google.com/privacy for details.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this document or by in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
